What's Hot: Lots of color combos, has cutouts for everything, good protection.

What's Not: Has tinny gaps between some pieces.

iPhone 4 users who want a colorful hard case are in luck! NXE Products has a hard shell case that comes with 27 color pieces. Like putting together a LEGO structure, you slide three pieces together into the ColorSlider case and build your case with variety of colors. The case provides good protection for your iPhone 4 while giving you 17K color combinations to play with. Fun! The NXE ColorSlider case is available for both iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS as well as iPod touch.

The NXE ColorSlider case for the iPhone 4 is a form fitting case that comes in, literally, pieces. The case comes with a top piece and a bottom piece, in black or white. They fit the iPhone 4 tightly. The top and bottom pieces have cutouts for the sync/charge port, speaker and mic grills, power button, audio jack, volume buttons, silence button and the camera on the back. Between the top and the bottom pieces you will need to choose 3 pieces in variety of colors to assemble the entire case. Boy, there?s a lot to choose from! The NXE ColorSide case comes with 27 pieces in 9 colors, 3 pieces of each color. The idea is that you can chance these 3 pieces in different colors to fit your outfit or when you get tired of looking at the same colors on the case. Also, you can match the colors to your nation?s flag or your college colors, or favorite ball club colors, and etc. The possibilities are endless.

The end pieces have a soft touch surface while the color pieces are shinier. None is slippery.

Size and Fit

The NXE ColorSlider case wraps around the front edges of the iPhone 4 and provides protection for the display when you put the phone face down. While durable, the ColorSlider case is quite slim. The iPhone 4 fitted in many charging and audio accessory docks while in the ColorSlider case in our tests. If you have a docking station or audio equipment that has a tight fit for the iPhone connector, you can remove the bottom piece of the ColorSlider case to use the connector naked while keeping the iPhone 4 still in the rest of the case. Since the ColorSlider case is extremely form fitting, it will likely not fit the white iPhone 4 as it?s slightly thicker than the black one.

Since each of the 5 pieces is separated from the other there are very slight gaps between the pieces, though we haven?t seen the case gathering dust or link in these gaps. The end pieces take a little bit of effort to put on or take off from the iPhone 4, but the middle pieces are easy to slide on or off. The NXE ColorSlider case also comes with a pouch in which you can carry additional color pieces to exchange on the go.

What?s in the Package

The NXE ColorSlider comes with 1 top piece, 1 bottom piece, 27 color pieces in 9 colors, 3 of each color, and 1 drawstring pouch.

The NXE ColorSlider case is a perfect case for young iPhone 4 users who love to show their phone in a new look often. The case is durable and provides good protection, and it?s highly functional with cutouts for all ports and buttons. If you keep your iPhone 4 in a backpack or a bag full of stuff, it?s very easy to spot your iPhone in the ColorSlider case.
