What's Hot: Strong protection for the entire tablet, built-in stand, great look.

What's Not: Adds a good amount of bulk and weight to the tablet.

At the BlackBerry World 2011, Incipio launched five new cases designed for the BlackBerry PlayBook 7" tablet. The Executive Kickstand leather case stands out with its quality material and the portfolio style that makes the tablet look like a book. The Executive Kickstand case has a built-in stand and comes in both black leather and a tan stressed leather.

Design

The Incipio Executive Kickstand case for the BlackBerry PlayBook is a portfolio case that opens up like a book. It has two layers: one layer has 6 sturdy plastic clips that hold the PlayBook in place, and another layer of leather wraps around to cover the entire body of the tablet. The clip holder layer can connects the outer layer on the outside edge, this means you can stand the tablet on one of the three stand grooves built into the case. This design makes sure that you have an extra layer of protection for your tablet, and you can stand the tablet up in different angle to play multimedia content.

The Incipio Executive Kickstand case has soft felt lining on the inside. The black leather version has high quality soft fine leather exterior while the tan stressed leather version has a smooth surface. Both versions feel good in hand, and has that high quality leather look. The front cover has strong insert that feels very protective of the screen, though it does add some bulk to the PlayBaook tablet. The case has a elastic strap that secures the front cover to the case in a designed groove, there is no magnetic material for the closure.

Features

The Incipio Executive Kickstand case is very functional thanks the side clip holder design. The case has six clips on three of tablet?s four edges (top, bottom and right), 2 on each, that holds the tablet securely inside of the case. The left is open so that you can slide the tablet in and out easily without having to pry the PlayBook out of the case. The placements of the clips are designed to leave all buttons and ports easily accessible. There is also a cutout on the back of the case for the rear camera.

The wide clips not only hold the tablet in the case, but the bottom clips also function as a stand. The BlackBerry PlayBook feels steady when standing on these wide clips, and the grooves in the cover also help provide traction. There are several grooves in the case cover that allows you to stand the tablet in different angles in up to 45-degrees.

Conclusion

The Incipio Executive Kickstand case for the BlackBerry PlayBook is a very protective case with two layers of protection and looks very professional. The case has a versatile design that allows the tablet to stand up in the case and leaves all ports, buttons, speakers and cameras open. It?s easy to put the tablet in or take it out of the case, and the high quality leather really gives this case a luxury look. The case has strong protection while adding a good amount of bulk and weight the tablet.
