Motorola Droid X2 Video Review: Android Verizon Dual Core Phone
      05/22/11 03:04 PM

We liked the original Motorola Droid X quite well, and it was deservedly a popular Verizon phone. The Droid X2 keeps the same modern, masculine and elegant industrial design while updating the innards to top spec for mid-2011. We've got a dual core 1GHz Tegra 2 CPU in the X2, a 4.3" display with qHD 540 x 960 resolution and a micro HDMI port. This is a fast phone that scores 2470 on Quadrant and handles 1080p video playback admirably.

This is a large but slim phone like the first Droid X, and it features the same liberal use of metals and a soft touch matte black finish. Call quality is excellent and 3G speeds are solid by Verizon standards. This Android 2.2 Froyo smartphone does not have 4G LTE.

The Motorola Droid X2 has Moto's social networking software and custom widgets but this isn't the over-the-top Moto Blur experience (thankfully). Bundled software includes VZ Navigator, V Cast apps, Kindle, BlockBuster, Skype and Slacker. The X2 will be in Verizon Wireless stores next week with a $199 contract price.

Here's our Motorola Droid X2 video review:

Full review to follow in the coming days.
