Sony Updates More Xperia Smartphones to Android 4.0 ICS

Sony Mobile has started rolling out software upgrade for Xperia go, Xperia U and Xperia sola. The latest software update introduces new media applications and upgrades the phone's OS version to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The rollout will continue over the next few weeks in markets globally. Here's more info:

Some of the features and functionality in this update include:

-New ways to experience your tunes, images, videos and films with Sony's media applications - "WALKMAN", "Album" and "Movies"
-Extended standby mode, increasing standby time by up to four times (depending on user-profile and data consumption)
-Lock screen with improved functionality
-Resizable widgets for improved personalization
-Improved control of your mobile data consumption
-Recent Apps button for a clear overview of your applications

The rollout starts today, and will ramp up over the weekend. It's not an over the air push, so in order to upgrade, you will need to connect to a PC or Mac. For instructions on how to update please visit and follow the instructions
