Okay, suppose you want to play Nintendo 3DS games, but you don't like the 3D feature (and you don't want to just turn it off), or maybe your budget is really, REALLY tight. Well, in case it wasn't complicated enough that the Nintendo 3DS line already contains the original 3DS and the 3DS XL, on October 12, Nintendo is adding the 2DS to the line-up. The 2DS does everything the 3DS does (including wireless and eShop) - except for the 3D. Although it resembles 3DS models, the 3DS does not "fold" and is not a clamshell.
The Nintendo 2DS has a suggested retail price of $129.99 and includes an SD card (capacity not specified), stylus, charger, and AR cards. It is compatible with all 3DS games and most DS games. At launch, it will be available in red and blue.
