RT tablet vs. Bay Trail
      #46899 - 08/27/14 03:00 PM

I'm looking for lower end Windows 8 tablet. I'm fully familiar with the limitations of RT and also of the low end Atom-based tablets. What I have never found is how does the performance of something like Lumia 2520 or Surface 2 compare to one of the Baytrail tablets like a Lenovo Tablet 2/10 or Dell Venue Pro 11? For me, this tablet will be primarily a consumption device, replacing my Nexus 7 tablet.

When working in MS Office, you likely won't perceive a speed difference. The same goes for email, web browsing and social networking. For video playback, Bay Trail has an advantage, but both are capable enough of streaming and decoding full HD video. For Metro games, it depends on how well optimized they are for ARM processors (Windows RT) vs. x86 (Intel).
