Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case Review
      #47093 - 10/01/14 08:03 PM

At the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch, Apple got the jump on the iPhone 6 Plus cases as few third-party case makers were prepared to release their iPhone 6 Plus cases. Apple offers two slim, form fitting iPhone 6 Plus cases including a leather case and a silicone case. The Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case comes in six solid colors including black, white, and a delicious pink, a zingy blue, green and (PROUDUCT)RED.

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case slips on the iPhone like a fitted glove. Unlike many soft silicone cases, the Apple case is form and rigid for a silicone case and keeps its form wrapped tightly around the phone. The case is thin and easy to install and remove. The Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case covers the back and all sides of the iPhone 6 Plus except most of the bottom side of the phone, though it protects the bottom corners. The silicone cover can prevent scratches to the iPhone 6 Plus' large back and long sides, and can also absorb some bump and shock forces.

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case has a soft rubbery surface and it certainly provides a better grip for the slippery phone. The sides of the case reach just a hair over the front display to ensure that the case touches the surface when you put the phone face down. The case stays away from the slightly raised front glass, giving you plenty of room for a screen protector on the 5.5" display. A faint Apple logo lives on the back of the case, over the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone 6 Plus.

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case has a design that won't get in the way of the functions of the iPhone. The control buttons are under the protection of the silicone cover, but the raised button covers make it easy to use the Power button and volume buttons. The case has a perfect cutout for the silence slider, and you don't have to fiddle with the slider when you use it in the case. The bottom of the case is largely open, covering only the corners of the phone and leaving the speaker, Lightning port, mic and audio jack open for easy access. If you have docks and speakers that have Lightning port support and can accommodate the size of the new iPhone 6 Plus' size, the case will likely not prevent you from docking the phone.

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case has a rear cutout that frames the iPhone 6 Plus' main camera and flash. Though it seems that the cutout is quite close to the lens, the raised camera lens has no trouble getting a full view for taking photos and videos. The cutout also gives the flash enough room to fully illuminate and it has a black rim that rings around the cutout opening to prevent vignette in photos by uneven flash lighting.

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus Silicone Case is slim and light. It hugs the phone's curves and back and its soft touch surface is grippy. It protects the phone's large back from scratches and nicks, and also offers some bump protection and shock protection. The phone is completely functional thanks to the cutouts that give easy access to ports and camera. We love the color options in the collection and how easy it is to install and remove the case.

What's Hot: Slim and light, great colors, very functional.
What's Not: It doesn't offer a lot of shock protection.
