STM dux for iPad Air 2 Case Review
      #47720 - 02/17/15 08:42 PM

The STM dux cases have always been deceivingly rugged, and the dux for iPad Air 2 case is no exception. This slim and stylish case can not only protect your tablet from the daily bumps and scratches but also from occasional drops as it passes the 6.6-feet drop tests. The dux for iPad Air 2 case offers easy access to all ports and buttons and has a clear back to let your iPad Air 2's elegance show through. The dux case comes in three color options, black, blue and red.

The STM dux for iPad Air 2 Case follows the series' signature design. The tablet holder is made with hard polycarbonate shell and rubberized TPU bracket that reinforced corners and sides. The back of the case is clear - designed for keeping IDs or barcode card and etc., or for those who wish to see the back of their iPad Air 2 through the case. The bracket rises higher than the front glass of the tablet, and the front cover fits in with the bracket frame perfectly. The front cover has ultra fine microfiber lining on the interior and water resistant polyurethane exterior for extra protection against spills and splashes. That's a good thing since the exterior of the cover tends to attract dust, and you can use a damped cloth to clean it. The STM dux for iPad Air 2 Case is tested to meet or exceed U.S. Department of Defense Standard 810F/G which means the case can protect your tablet from up to 6.6' drops. For all the strong protection, the dux is quite slim. It does add 10.56 oz. of weight to the light tablet.

The STM dux for iPad Air 2 Case is a functional case. It protects the tablet's buttons with rubber covers. It's quite easy to use the volume buttons under their covers but the power button takes some effort to press. The case has cutouts for the 3.5mm audio jack on the top of the tablet, the bottom speakers and the Lightning port and the side mic. The rear camera cutout works well with the tablet.

The front cover on the STM dux for iPad Air 2 Case functions as a built-in stand as well, and it can prop up the tablet in two viewing angles, both in landscape orientation. The lower viewing angle works perfectly for typing on the on-screen keyboard and it's steady. The more upright viewing angle is great for viewing media, reading web pages and ebooks as well as for video chats; though since the stand hinges on two small wall bumpers, it wobbles when you tap on the screen. The front cover also has support for iPad's auto wake and sleep function.

The STM dux for iPad Air 2 Case is one of the slimmest cases that pass MIL-STD 810F/G tests. It's very protective of the tablet while letting its beauty show through the clear back cover. The case is easy to use and comes in three colors. The built-in stand is handy though it's a bit unsteady in the upright angle. We like the build and material of the case and its sleek look.

Editor's Ratings (1-5): 4.5
What's Hot: Slim yet very protective, comes in three colors, has a built-in stand.
