What's hot: Low price with higher end features like 4G, fast CPU and high res display.

What's not: No Super AMOLED Plus display (can't have everything at this price).

The Samsung Exhibit 4G is an embarrassment of riches at a bargain price. For $99 with contract and $299 without contract, you get a lot of high end features like an 800 x 480 display, a 1GHz Hummingbird CPU and 4G HSPA+. It's like getting the Samsung Galaxy S 4G for half what the Galaxy S 4G sold for at launch. So what's the difference between these two phones? The Exhibit has a smaller 3.5" display vs. the Galaxy S 4G's 4" display, and the Exhibit don't have a super-colorful Super AMOLED display.

Samsung Exhibit 4G

The Samsung Exhibit 4G is a medium size Android smartphone that runs Android OS 2.3 Ginberbread with Samsung's UI customizations. It's a responsive phone that's not as fast as today's top of the line dual core 1GHz Android phones, but it's fast enough to handle Adobe Flash and HD video playback. It ships with Qik Video Chat that works with the front-facing camera, T-Mobile TV (streaming TV powered by MobiTV) and Samsung Media Hub for TV and movie rental and purchases. It has the usual WiFi 802.11b/g/partial n, Bluetooth and a GPS as well as a 3 megapixel rear camera. It has WiFi calling and can work as a mobile hotspot.

Conclusion

If you're on a budget and want an Android phone with solid features, the Samsung Exhibit 4G is an excellent choice. With 4G, a high resolution display and good CPU power, the Exhibit can handle most tasks well. It lacks the flashier display technology found on higher end phones, and you're giving up some camera resolution, but for $99 with contract and $299 without contract, that's OK by us.
